Phoenix Girls V Soccer in First MAISAD Game, Falls 0-7

 September 25, 2013

 Hyde – 0

Kent’s Hill – 7

Hyde played its first MAISAD league game at home against Kents Hill.  The Phoenix took the field at a disadvantage in that they were missing several starting players, including senior goalkeeper-captain Hope Stinson ’14.  The Huskie offense was fast and skilled and despite a great effort from Kristine Bailey ‘16 for her first time in goal, Kents Hill was able to score several times in the first half of play. Allie Grover ’17 made her varsity debut and contributed significantly as an outside midfielder.  Kelsey Talbutt ’16 and Susanna McManus ’14 worked hard in new positions while the team continued to experiment with different formations in an attempt to generate offense.

Quick stats:

Hyde – shots: 2, corner kicks: 1, saves: 10, fouls: 8, offsides: 0

Kent’s Hill – shots: 10, corner kicks: 8, saves: 1, fouls: 9, offsides: 1
