Solid Wolfpack Boys Varsity Soccer Team Ties Master’s, 0-0

Boys Varsity Soccer

September 18, 2013

Final Score:

Hyde 0:
The Master’s School: 0

After a crushing defeat at the hands of a very talented Macduffie squad, the Wolfpack looked to bounce back when meeting Master’s. On the defensive end, Hyde was flawless. The boys put in a solid performance behind a huge defensive effort by senior Sam Bell ’14. He stopped various dangerous breakaways and anchored the Wolfpack’s defense. Goalkeeper Wanjiang “ Iker” Yang ’14 had another impressive game in goal accumulating 7 more saves to his season totals. Offensively, the Wolfpack was led by Johnny Schaer ’14 despite his late arrival from wilderness FLC. His effort, determination, and dedication to the team this year have been crucial. He provided Hyde with an offensive spark and put in a very solid performance that created many of the scoring chances. The game could have easily been the Wolfpack’s first Win of the season but they just could not find the back of the net and capitalize on various scoring opportunities. Hyde was not satisfied with the draw but the boys played well and as a team they keep improving. Hopefully they can keep this momentum going forward!
