Wolfpack Girls JV Soccer vs. Rectory in Season Opener

Hyde Girls JV Soccer vs. Rectory
1-8 Loss (0-1-0 WIN-LOSS-TIE)

On Saturday, the Girls JV Soccer team traveled up the road to Rectory for its first game of the season. After two weeks working on conditioning and ball-handling skills, the girls used this game as an opportunity to test their teamwork. The team struggled to find a rhythm in the first fifteen minutes of the game and allowed Rectory’s offense to take advantage of its disorganization. As the first half progressed however, the girls became more comfortable in their positions and confident in their ability to communicate. Despite being down 0-5 at the start of the second half, the team did not lose focus. Standout players include Joyce Zhang ’14 and Sarah Fan ’14, both of whom demonstrated impressive endurance throughout the game. The final minutes saw the team’s first goal of the season as Jessica Shao ’14 scored off a corner kick from Naiwen Zhang ’14.
