This spring, Hyde Woodstock’s Boys Varsity Lacrosse team successfully defended it SENE championship and advanced further in the New England tournament than any other team has in school history.
After a convincing 18-3 win over conference rival Rocky Hill School in the SENE finals, the Boys Varsity Lacrosse team headed into the New England Small Schools tournament with high hopes.
Having fallen the previous year in the first game of the tournament, the Wolfpack entered their quarterfinal matchup with great energy and determination. The Wolfpack played a great game and ended up victorious, defeating Gould Academy 11-9.
The Wolfpack played their semifinal game against Dexter School. A rematch from last year’s New England game, the Wolfpack fought hard, but could not defeat a very talented Dexter team and fell 13-8. Dexter ultimately went on to win their third consecutive New England championship.
With a season record of 12-6 and such a strong performance in the league championships and New England tourney, the Wolfpack placed numerous athletes on the SENE all-Conference team. These included conference player of the year, Connor McLaughlin ’13, and conference goalie of the year, Peter Markham ’13.
“We’re very proud of what the Varsity Lacrosse squad accomplished this year,” shared Kevin Folan, one of the Lacrosse coaches at the Hyde School. “We hope to continue to build on this success in order to win our own New England championship in the near future.”
