Hyde Leadership Charter School of the Bronx is graduating its first class on June 29, 2013.
When Hyde-Bronx opened its doors in 2006, this group of students was in 6th grade. They went on to participate, with their families, in the traditional Hyde activities. Discovery groups, school meetings, athletics, performing arts and community service (to mention a few) were all wrapped around a college preparatory academic curriculum.
This class forged many “firsts” for Hyde-Bronx, from participating in the design of their new high school to the inaugural senior retreat. Their graduation speeches will tell their stories of growth, connection and family commitment.
As of this date, 92% of Hyde-Bronx’s 66 seniors have been admitted to college. Of that number, 85% are planning to enroll in four-year colleges and 15% will enroll in two-year degree programs with future plans to receive bachelor degrees.
The graduation ceremony will be held at Columbia University in New York City on Saturday, June 29 2013.
