In the second to last home meet of the season, the Wolfpack took to the track on what proved to be the nicest day of the season and the results did not disappoint. The boys team took home their fourth victory of the season, besting Marianapolis (44 points) and Portsmouth Abbey (50 points), scoring 87 points on the day. The Lady Wolfpack struggled to get on the podium, but rallied around each other to finish the day positively.
The boys throwing team proved to be a highlight once again as they placed two athletes in each of the three throwing events. In the running events, Jay Watkins ’13 had a career day with wins in the TJ, 100M, and 200M. His 200M time of 22.82 topped the school record by a slight margin. Other notable performances wereTyquan Ekejiuba ’13 with two third place finishes, Brendan Murray ’13 with two third place finishes, andSean Michael McCrystal ’13 with two second place finishes. Senior leadership from the boys proved to be the determining factor this meet.
The girls team worked hard throughout the day scoring 13 points throughout the meet. Janicha Diaz ’14finished first in the 400M and fourth in the 300IH while Amanda Diedrick’13 continued her contributions in the 800M with a fourth place finish.
Another solid day around the track and in the field, Hyde is back in action with their final home meet of the season next week.
