Hyde Bath 4
Hyde Woodstock 11
The Phoenix traveled down to Woodstock, Connecticut today for another chapter in the annual rivalry game. Despite the cold drizzle, the Phoenix came out hot as Aiden Dorvee scored off the assist of Brian Edwards. The Wolfpack defended their home turf well, however, scoring two goals to close out the first quarter, 2-1. Evan Robish found the net to tie the game when he burned the keeper high on an extra man opportunity. While the Phoenix stifled the Wolfpack offense often, mistakes in the clearing game cost the Phoenix dearly as missed passes accumulated in a couple more goals for the home team. The Bath squad entered halftime down, 4-2.
The third quarter proved to be the Achilles heel for the Maine players, as Woodstock accumulated 5 scores to the Phoenix 1. Jimmy Talbott made several defenders miss on his way to the goal, finally putting it past the goalie. The Phoenix kept pushing and netted another behind a strong dodge and shot by Brian Edwards, but the Wolfpack proved to be too strong as the game ended in a 11-4 loss for Hyde, Maine.
Andrew Davis continued to stand tall in goal and make some outstanding saves. Other outstanding performances were Jack Howarth and Zach Mann, who played tough against a very talented attack corps. Wilson MacMillan and Ethan Morrow led the team in hustle.
