Lady Wolf Pack Wins in Overtime, 11-10

The girls lacrosse team traveled to St. Andrews for a league match-up that would prove to be very exciting.  The team had been winless up until that point and struggling with rudimentary skills and belief in themselves.  St. Andrews scored the first goal and it went back and forth the entire first half.  At halftime, Hyde had a two goal lead.  St. Andrews would fight back and tie the game up in the waning moments of the game.  St. Andrews was first to score in overtime but they were not the last.  Alina Donnelly ’13 scored on a free position shot to tie the game at 10-10.  In the last thirty seconds of the game Alina Donnelly ’13 traveled the length of the field and passed the ball to Katherine Hagood ’13 who scored to put Hyde up 11-10. Jenna Dubinsky ’14 had her best game of the season in goal saving 20 shots on goal.  Marcy Altobello ’13, a newcomer to the game, was critical in securing ground balls with a total of seven in the midfield.  The defense led by seniors Yoomi Ji and Rongpei “Tina” Zhang shut down St. Andrew’s scorers at crucial points of the game. It was an outstanding win which should pay dividends in confidence and morale.  The Wolf Pack faces sister school Bath on Saturday.
