The Wolfpack marched down the street to compete in a tri-meet against Rectory and Pomfret. This was the third meet this season between the Wolfpack and Rectory, and their second meet with Pomfret. The Wolfpack fought hard in their last competition before the JV New England tournament but came up short, finishing third. The three standouts for the Wolfpack were Dylan Marx ’14, Jack Yan ’13, and Dawit Kifflermariam ’15 all of whom won their matches. Marx had two matches on the day. His first opponent was from Rectory who put up a hard fight, however Marx was able to win by points, 8-3, after three hard fought periods. Similar to Marx’s first match, his opponent made him fight till the end for the win. In his second match, Marx faced a strong wrestler from the Pomfret School and won by points 15-9. Both Yan and Kifflermariam each had one match versus wrestlers from the Pomfret School. They fought hard right out of the gates and ended up pinning their opponents. These were the only two pins the Wolfpack had on the day. Although the Wolfpack did not come out on top, each wrestler fought their hardest and left everything they had out on the mat. It was great to see each wrestler improve, give it their all and not give up. It will be exciting to see what the Wolfpack can do in ten days when they compete in a 300 wrestler competition at the JV New England Tournament.
