On Saturday, January 26th the girls JV basketball team traveled to St. Andrews school. In a hard fought game the Wolfpack started the game lacking the necessary energy to challenge the well practiced offense of the St. Andrews Saints. Throughout the first half Hyde worked to find their rhythm as a team on the court ending with a score of 4-30 thanks to well placed shots from Gaffney Tucker ‘14 and LiYuan Zhang ’14. Starting the second half Tucker, Shanshan Wang ’14, and Grace Briggs ’14 hustled up and down the court bringing life to the Hyde defense. With more energy the Wolfpack was able to hold St. Andrews to only 12 points while LiYuan and Xiatong Zhang both scored two points and Briggs added four. Hyde ended the game losing 12- 42 but proud of the improvement they are seeing in their game. They are looking forward to the next game away against Portsmouth Abbey School on Wednesday, January 30th.
