Wolfpack JV Basketball Falls to Worcester Academy, 31-55

Worcester Academy- 55

On Wednesday, January 23 the boys JV basketball team travelled to Worcester on a frigid afternoon. The Wolfpack came out lethargic quickly falling behind 10-2 against a physical and talented Worcester Academy team. The Wolfpack struggled to rebound, and Worcester capitalized on numerous second opportunities. A spark was provided of the bench by Jake Hedrick ‘14 scoring eleven points on the day, and playing the baseline position of the defense like a hawk. The team was able to cut the lead to ten going into halftime.

Unfortunately, in the second half the team’s morale and focus quickly deflated, and the deficit jumped to twenty points—a lead from which the Wolfpack was unable to recover. Despite the lackluster performance, senior leader Joey Fan ’13 played with spirit and hustle all evening, particularly on the defensive end. Offensively, Jason Zhao ’15 helped keep the team in the game registering eight points and creating opportunities off the dribble. Kevin Ding ’15 played hard in limited minutes, intercepting a pass at half court with clever anticipation. The Wolfpack looks forward to its rematch against Marianapolis Academy on Friday, January 25.
