The Lady Phoenix won their fourth straight road game with a strong 49-24 showing over the Panthers of North Yarmouth.  Once again, So. Jailene Martinez controlled the paint on both the offensive and defensive ends of the court and led the team with 12 points.  Martinez also gathered 4 rebounds and had 1 block.  The senior tandem of Kara Fischer and Katie Comeaux came up big again in this game as they scored 7 and 8 points respectively.  Also, Fischer made 5 steals while Comeaux gathered 7 rebounds.  Jrs. Shannon Ward, Allie Helfrich, and Carolyn Moore did a fine job of providing depth off the bench.  Ward had 6 points while Helfrich and Moore each chipped in 5 of their own.  With their season record now at 9-0, the Lady Phoenix are starting to gain respect and recognition as they have risen to a ranking of 3rd in the Western Region of Class D for Maine.  While the team is proud of its accomplishments, it recognizes the hard work and improvements that will be needed to prepare itself to compete in the state tournament.
