The Hyde Lady Phoenix improved their season record to 7-0 with a 40-24 victory on the road over the Hebron Lumberjacks.  Fr. Chloe Blaylock scored a team high 12 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 assists while Jr. Carolyn Moore tallied 7 rebounds and added 6 points of her own.  Sr. Kara Fischer scored all of her 8 points in the second quarter before giving way to teammates like Jr. Emma Leonard who scored 4 points to go along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals and Jr. Cailin Darling who played strong defense on the wing and did a fine job of running the floor in transition.  This was a game where everyone shared playing time including Sr. Claire Yin who made her varsity debut with excitement and enthusiasm.  Perhaps the greatest highlight of the game was when the opposing coaches complimented the exemplary sportsmanship of the ladies for the way they kept the game fun and competitive.  As the Phoenix of Hyde continue to rise, it is clear that the team has not forgotten its experiences while in the ashes.  Onward and upward!

Next up:  The Phoenix travel to Islesboro on Thursday.
