Hyde Record:  5-0

Maybe the three week vacation offered valuable rest, or perhaps the Lady Phoenix basketball team simply missed being together on the court.  Either way, they offered a raucous home crowd an entertaining and dominating victory over the visiting Valley Cavaliers 48-16 and improved their season record to 5-0.  Fr. Diamond Brown led all scorers with 13 points and brought the crowd to its feet when she rejected a Cavalier shot into the cheap seats.  Sr. Kara Fischer again controlled the tempo of the basketball game on both ends of the court while tallying 10 points.  Sr. Katie Comeaux scored 11 points and played her best game of the season.  Her defense was outstanding and critical in limiting the opponent to 16 points.  Comeaux produced another moment that brought the fans out of their seats when she launched and connected on her first ever 3-pointer from way downtown.  Overall, this game was an absolute team victory with 8 different players scoring points and the entire team making valuable contributions.  Fr. Chloe Blaylock and Jr. Allie Helfrich each scored 4 points while Jrs. Emma Leonard, Shannon Ward, and So. Jailene Martinez each added 2 points.  In the end, the team celebrated what it rightly saw as its best performance thus far on the path to meeting its unique potential.
