Wolf Pack Varsity Football Wins in Hyde-Bath Matchup, Will Compete in Dan Rorke Bowl at KO 11/17

November 10th, 2012

Hyde-Woodstock: 55

Hyde-Bath: 28

Hyde hit the road for its regular season finale to play sister-school rival Hyde-Bath on Saturday. It was a great day for the Wolf Pack, led by post graduate players Daniel Palmer ’13 and Jay Watkins ’13. The two combined for all eight scores and well over 400 yards rushing, 315 of those coming just on scoring runs. Watkins had five scores on runs of 30, 64, 20, 70, and 36 yards, respectively. Palmer added three rushing scores of his own on runs of 3, 67, and 23 yards. Palmer also completed 5 passes on the day, three of those to senior receiver Tyquan Ekejiuba ’13.

Defensive player of the game went to junior Kyle O’Keefe ’14. Kyle made tackles all over the field and defended the pass well.

Once again, when a team rushes for over 400 yards, the offensive line must be acknowledged. These five young men blocked well and picked up the Phoenix blitz all afternoon. Greg Munetz ’13, Joe Yanovitch ’13, Stanley Yao ’13, Michael Dore ’13, and Jon White ’14 got the job done in the trenches for the Wolf Pack.

With the win, Hyde has clinched a post-season birth for the first time in school history. The Wolf Pack will play in the Rorke Bowl  vs. St. Luke’s School at Kingswood Oxford on Saturday, November 17th at noon.
