Bath: Boys Varsity Soccer vs. Kents Hill

Hyde School       4

Kents Hill             0

The Phoenix traveled to Kents Hill on Wednesday to play a match on their turf field under sunny skies with light warm breezes.  Jamal Frazer-Borden`13 started the scoring for Hyde with an unassisted goal in the 15th minute.  Hyde maintained possession for a majority of the first half of play, having numerous scoring opportunities.  Captain Ethan Morrow converted an Eduardo Gadsden`13 feed to go up 2-0 eight minutes before the half.

Strong play through the midfield during the second half by Kiefer Cundy`15, Eduardo Gadsden`13  and outside midfielder Cole Faulkner`15 kept Kents Hill on their heels and in a defensive mode.  Jamal Frazer-Borden`13 found the back of the net again off a beautiful Eduardo Gadsden`13 assist to go up 3-0 midway through the second half of play.  With three minutes remaining, Frazer-Borden`13 earned the hat trick with an artful chip of the keeper off a nicely played ball from Kiefer Cundy`15.  The Phoenix defensive players; Wilson MacMillan`14, PG Sam Mann, Nabil Eshraghian`13 and Andrew Davis`15 did an excellent job of thwarting the Kents Hill offensive attacks and helping keeper Billy Martinez`13 preserve the shutout.   Our next match is against Carrabassett Valley Academy tomorrow at home.
