Wolf Pack Boys V Soccer Bows to Wheeler, 2-0

October 20, 2012

Wheeler – 2

Hyde – 0

Despite a more tenacious effort than a month ago, the Wolfpack fell to undefeated Wheeler 2-0 at home on an unseasonably warm fall day during Parents Weekend.  Outhustled and outplayed in nearly every facet of the game during their first meeting in September, the Wolfpack was determined to put forth a better showing.  Both teams battled for the entire eighty minutes, but the Wolfpack struggled to breakdown the disciplined Wheeler backline.  Both Wheeler goals came off poor communication between the Hyde netminder and central defender, leading to an easy poke-in by Wheeler.  Central midfielders Jake Hedrick ’14 and Will Davis ’13 did a much better job holding their shape and battling for 50/50 balls throughout the day.

In the midst of a 1-3 four game stretch, the Wolfpack hopes to rebound when it hosts Williams School at home on Saturday, October 27th at 2pm.  The Wolfpack, 7-6, looks to finish off the regular season as it begins its final home stand on Saturday.
