Dexter School – 40

Dexter flies past the Phoenix

The Phoenix travelled south to Brookline Mass to take on 2 and 2 Dexter School.  Hyde took the opening drive 46 yards and failed to punch it in on a 4th and goal from the 5 yard line.

Two plays later Aaron Leffert ’14 scooped up a Dexter fumble and rumbled 2 yards for the score!  Hyde was up 6 – 0.

Two minutes later Dexter QB (#14) Luke Cuneo (9 completions for 257 yards and 5 TD’s) scrambled 37 yards for a TD tying the game at 6 with 2:10 to go in the first. Twenty three seconds into the second quarter, Cunceo hit CJ Okafor on a 69 yard bomb. This duo would connect two more times for 3 TD’s and 191 yards in the air.  Cunceo also hit #3 Justin Smith three times for 38 yards and 2 TD’s.

Senior Troy Jones ( 22 carries for 89 yards with 4 catches for 11 yards) posted two running TD’s for the Phoenix.  However, the air attack of Dexter would not be shot down and Dexter moved to 3 and 2 on the season as the Phoenix fell to 3 and 2.

The Phoenix travel next Saturday the 27th to northern New Hampshire, to take on undefeated New Hampton.
