Bath: Boys Varsity Soccer vs. Woodstock

Hyde School Bath                             5

Hyde School Woodstock               2

The Hyde School Wolf pack traveled from Woodstock Connecticut last Friday to play the first of a series of athletic contests between the Hyde Schools in what is sure to be a hotly contested President’s Cup race.  The late afternoon game was played under bright but blustery conditions.  It was clear from the first whistle that the rivalry between the schools is alive and well as both teams played with intensity and determination.   Jamal Frazer-Borden`13 scored the first goal for Hyde Bath in the 5th  minute of play unassisted.    Woodstock countered to bring the score even at the half time break.  In the 48th Wes Miller`14 found the back of the net on an unassisted goal inside the box to put the Phoenix up a goal.  However, Woodstock battled back and tied the game in the 65th minute.  The next 10 minutes of play was back and forth with both teams tenaciously trying to score.  With 12 minutes remaining, Wilson MacMillan`14 served in a huge cross from the left side that Jamal Frazer-Borden`12 headed into the goal just inside the far post.   Frazer-Borden`13 scored again 3 minutes later on a nice assist from Captain Ethan MorrowWes Miller`14 rounded out the scoring with just over a minute of play to achieve a final 5-2 result.  Billy Martinez`14 had a great day in net and Wondo Shaw`13 did an exceptional job anchoring the defense.  The Hyde Bath coaches are pleased with the win against such a formidable opponent, but were disappointed in the number of yellow cards booked to us.  We plan to address this attitude so that we can represent ourselves and school with class during the remainder of our season.
