The lady Wolf Pack traveled to Rocky Hill on a warm fall afternoon. The ladies had to readjust their line up and attitudes as injuries took over the team. Nicola Gomez ’13 and Virginia Garriety ’15 made their first varsity appearance of the season as they helped the team in the midfield and on defense. Sarah Gaebe ’15 stepped out of the goal and made her first appearance on the field as she contributed to the balls movement. Rocky Hill began the game with a nicely placed ball in the net and the lady Wolf Pack responded with a punt from goalie Jenna Kilowaski’13 which Jinicha Diaz ’14 ran on. Diaz’ 14 skillfully beat the defense and scored the lady Wolf Pack’s first and only goal of the game.
Rocky Hill went on to beat the Wolf Pack 7-1. The ladies played strong and showed determination with new players and skill levels that filled in due to injury. Highlights of the game were Hannah Peters ’13 who stepped in as sweeper and played a solid 80 minutes of soccer. Her efforts motivated the girls and put up a fight against the Rocky Hill offense. Kilowaski ’13 was also a highlight of the game as she continues to improve in goal and made many amazing saves.
