Hyde School                       3

Hebron Academy             3

Boys Varsity soccer traveled to Hebron Maine on Friday afternoon to play a MAISAD league match against Hebron Academy.  The match was played on their natural grass pitch with mild temperatures and clear skies.  The first goal of the game was scored by Eduardo Gadsden`13 off an assist from Jamal Frazer-Borden`13 in the 21st minute.  Hebron countered three minutes later on a direct kick to even the score.  Hebron scored again with just over a minute remaining in the half on a direct kick to go up 2-1 before the break.

Hebron widened the gap in the 51st minute of play to go ahead 3-1. However, the Hyde lads kept fighting and were able to battle back to even.  In the 53rd minute Jamal Frazer-Borden`12 scored off a Wilson MacMillan`14 free kick.  Borden found the back of the net again in the 75th minute to round out the scoring.  Captain Ethan Morrow had the assist on the goal.  Both teams had multiple chances to go ahead in the last fifteen minutes of the game, but it ended in a tie.  Billy Martinez`14 played in net for Hyde.  Captain Wondo Shaw`13 did a nice job of anchoring the defense.  Andrew Davis`15 turned in  a solid performance at center midfield and PG Sam Mann did a great job as a marking back.  Though the Phoenix were unable to secure the win, they did an admirable job of evening the score against a skilled Hebron team.
