Bath: GVS vs. Hebron

October 3, 2012

Hyde – 0

Hebron Academy – 4

Under rainy skies, the Hyde team took to the field squaring off against Hebron for the second time.  After a tough 6-0 loss to the Lumberjacks earlier in the season, the Phoenix were hoping for a much different outcome.  The first half was a close battle and remained scoreless until the final :08 seconds of play when Hebron capitalized on a loose ball in front of the net.  It was anyone’s game and came down to who emerged ready to go after the half.

The second half was dominated by Hebron as the Phoenix struggled to find pace and composure.  Green jerseys were dominating 50-50 balls and controlling the mid-field.  Carolyn Moore ’14 played an outstanding game as a marking back, shutting down one of the strongest players in the league.  Meanwhile Olivia Griffing ’14 led the battle at the other end of the field working hard to win balls and mount an offensive attack.  Just under halfway through their season, the team’s record moves to 1-5-0.  The team has a week to prepare for their next game against Kent’s Hill.
