Hyde School                       4

Berwick Academy            3

Berwick Academy traveled to Bath to play the Boys Varsity Soccer team yesterday.  The game was played on our turf field in light drizzle and overcast skies.  Captain Ethan Morrow scored for Hyde in the first minute on an unassisted goal to start the match.  Berwick evened the score ten minutes later.  The Hyde lads countered a minute later when Jamal Frazer-Borden`13 received a nicely placed ball from post grad Ethan MorrowFrazer-Borden`13 returned the favor in the 26th minute, assisting Ethan Morrow who scored his second goal of the match to go up 3-1.     With less than three minutes on the clock, Berwick scored on a direct kick that defected off a Hyde defender to make it 3-2 at the break.

The evenly matched teams battled for possession and both teams had multiple scoring opportunities in the second half of play.  In the 75th minute of play, Berwick scored on a direct kick to even the score at 3-3.  An intensely contested match became even more  so as the clock started playing out.  However, the Phoenix kept the pressure on and Jamal Frazer-Borden`13 earned a hard won penalty kick with nine minutes remaining.  Ethan Morrow laced the PK by the keeper to close out the scoring.  Kiefer Cundy`15 had another impressive game as center midfielder, and his play at that position significantly contributed to the victory. Or next match is Friday at Hebron Academy.
