Bath: GVS vs. Kent’s Hill

Hyde – 0

Kent’s Hill – 4

Hyde returned to home turf to play their second MAISAD game of the 2012 season against Kent’s Hill.  For some, the second overtime loss to the Huskies the previous year during the MAISAD semi-final was resurrected as Kent’s Hill’s #25 took to the field.  The Phoenix started the game with much more intensity than their recent game against Hebron and continued to fight hard to the half.  With standout efforts by Mady Preece ’13 and Carolyn Moore ’14 the Hyde defense was able to hold Kent’s Hill to only one goal, which came 24 minutes into the first half.  Outside back Jenny Morin ’14 played an outstanding game, having learned many lessons from the game prior, while mid-fielder Kara Fischer ’13 led transitions.  Hyde successfully controlled the ball at mid-field, but had trouble creating scoring threats.

The momentum shifted when Kent’s Hill scored only four minutes in to the second half.  The Huskies went on to score two more goals before the final whistle blew.  The Hyde backs struggled with their marks leaving scoring threats open in their back field.  The team looks forward to its next contest on the road against Gould Academy.
