Bath: GVS vs. Hebron Academy

Hyde – 0

Hebron – 6

The turf was buzzing as Hyde hosted the Hebron Lumberjacks for their MAISAD opener.  Having developed a friendly rivalry the match is usually hard fought on both sides.  Unfortunately, the Phoenix were still suffering from early season injuries and couldn’t seem to gather momentum.  Hebron took full advantage scoring three goals in the first half.  Cailin Darling ’14 stood in as keeper and did a solid job with only a few days of training.  The game also served as senior Kara Fischer’s ’13 season debut and while only being able to play half the game, she made a huge contribution.  Carolyn Moore ’14 delivered another strong defensive performance, while midfielder Shannon Ward ’14 and striker Olivia Griffing ’14 worked hard up field.

Hebron returned to score three more goals in the second half, sealing a firm victory.  The Phoenix will continue to work hard to narrow the margin while anxiously awaiting the return of several key players.
