Hyde School 7
Putnam Science 2
Putnam Science Academy traveled to Bath to play the Boys Varsity Soccer team on the turf yesterday under sunny skies. The Phoenix controlled the pace and tempo of the game throughout. During the first half of play Hyde possessed the ball more than Putnam and had significantly more opportunities to score, but as the half expired the game was knotted at two goals apiece. Scoring goals for Hyde were Jamal Frazer-Borden`13 unassisted and PG Ethan Morrow with an assist from Eduardo Gadsden`13 in the 36th minute of play.
The Hyde lads created a scoring frenzy in the second half, scoring 5 goals in less than 10 minutes. It started with a header goal by Jamal Frazer-Borden`13 off an Ethan Morrow assist. Next up was Eduardo Gadsden`13; Frazer-Borden`13 had the assist. Shortly after that, Ethan Morrow scored off a Gadsden`13 assist. One minute later, Kiefer Cundy`15 fed one to Jamal Frazer-Borden`13 who found the back of the net for the hat-trick. Kiefer Cundy`15 assisted post grad Ethan Morrow on his third goal, a beautiful full volley off a chest trap, just outside the box. Defenders Nabil Eshraghian`13, post grad Sam Mann, Wilson MacMillan`14 and Captain Wondo Shaw`13 did a nice job of keeping Putnam Science scoreless in the second half. Keepers Billy Martinez`14 and Alexi Philippoussis`15 were solid in the net. Our next match is Saturday against Gould Academy.
