Another Tough Loss for Wolf Pack Boys Varsity Soccer

September 26, 2012

Putnam Science – 9

Hyde – 2

Missing several key players, the Hyde Wolf Pack lost in a very lopsided result 9-2 at home.  Having multiple players in different positions, the potent PSA attack quickly exploited Hyde’s weaknesses.  Despite Hyde’s best first half effort, the Wolfpack found itself down 3-0 at the half.  Determined to claw back into the game, Coach Folan started the second frame with a more offensive posture.  This coaching decision proved to be a very poor decision as PSA’s attack successfully broke down the novice Hyde backline multiple times.  Never to quit, the Wolfpack got on the scoreboard late in the match.  Combining with a beautiful give-and-go, senior midfielder Will Davis received a perfectly slotted one-touch through pass from striker Sean Kokdil ’13 for an easy finish.  Kokdil again shredded the PSA backline with a nicely weighted through ball and found left flank senior midfielder Jared Larsen, who hammered home Hyde’s final goal on the day.  A special shout-out goes to Wolfpack keeper Parker Roma ’14 who, despite letting in 9 goals, was stellar in net.

In the midst of a two game skid, the Wolf Pack hopes to return to its winning ways when it takes on SENE rival, Marianapolis, away on Monday, October 1st at 4pm.
