MEN’S TEAM: 17th Place out of 17 scoring teams
WOMEN’S TEAM: 6th Place out of 20 scoring teams
The men’s and women’s track teams traveled back to our sister school (Hyde-Woodstock) for the New England NEPSTA Division III Track & Field Championship. The sun was out and it was a perfect day for a championship meet.
Like most of our meets this year, we has a solid performance with several medalists and a number of season PR’s. Overall meet results are attached.
For the six Hyde women who qualified for the meet, it was the Dexie-Katie show on the day. Senior Dexie Cercos `12 took second place in the 100m hurdles, third place in the 300m hurdles and 4th place in the triple jump. Junior Katie Comeaux `13 took second place in both the women’s shot put and discus throw. Her throw of 32’ 9” was a PR by over a foot. Katie also finished 7th (out of 27 competitors) in the javelin. Other competitors were Madi Preece `13 (12th out of 21 in the 300m hurdles), Xi Wang `14 (16 out of 18 in the 3000m), and Imani Hiller-Bateau `15 (15th out of 24 in the shot put… 22nd out of 27 in the discus… and 17th out of 24 in the javelin). Our women’s 4 x 400m relay had an 8thplace finish with a PR time (by 5 seconds) of 4:43.49.
The men’s meet was the most competitive I have ever seen. Our only scorer on the day was Cody Mitchell `13 with a 6th place finish in the 800m and a PR time of 2:08.09. Other competitors included…
