MAISAD Track Championships – (5-12-12)
The men’s and women’s track teams travelled to Hebron Academy for the state prep school track championship (MAISADs). We lucked out on the weather… sunny and in the 70’s.
It was a proud day for Hyde track & field. Both the boys and girls placed second (2nd) out of four scoring teams. The significant highlight of the day was the awarding of the men’s most valuable athlete honor to senior Ben Webber `12 and the awarding of the women’s most valuable athlete honor to senior Dexie Cercos `12. Dexie won all her events with personal bests in each (the 100m hurdles, 300m hurdles, and triple jump). Dexie also anchored our second place 4x400m relay team. Ben won the 100m and 200m and placed 3rd in the 400m. He also anchored our victorious 4 x 100m relay team. Another highlight was the number of season-best performances by the Hyde athletes. 52% of the women’s performances on the day represented personal-bests, while 45% of the men’s performances were personal-bests.
I couldn’t be more proud of both the men’s and women’s teams.
Overall meet results are attached.
