Hyde : 14
Worcester Academy: 5
The Wolfpack traveled to Worcester Academy today in hopes of continuing there “hot” win streak. Worcester Academy jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the opening minutes of the game. A little “dazed/confused” the Wolfpack called a timeout to regroup and soon thereafter went on a tear.
Jared Larsen ’13 took matters into his own hands and scored three quick goals within a matter of minutes to take the lead 3-2. Then face-off specialist Danny Gill ’12 continued to dominate and helped Hyde score another 8 goals with the help of Kevin McMorrow ’12, Joe Yanovitch ’13and
Connor McLaughlin ’13 to go into the half with a commanding lead 11-3. In the second half, the defense led by Evan Dienstag ’12, Ben Lieber ’12 and Zach Cereme ’12 shutdown the Worcester fire-power and allowed Hyde to own possession of the ball . Hyde continued to pump in goals and McMorrow ’12 put the “icing on the cake” with a great goal to help Hyde cruise to victory 14-5. Goalies Blake Smaldone ’12 and Cullum Thompson ’12 split time and each of them were stellar stopping point blank shots as well as clearing the ball setting up numerous fast-break opportunities. Next up St. Thomas Moore.
