Hyde Bath 10
Hyde Woodstock 11
Hyde Lady Phoenix Laxers hosted the Wolfpack from Woodstock Saturday afternoon. With many parents and supporters watching and cheering, the game proved to be exciting the entire way through. Hyde Bath started strong scoring 4 goals, two from Carolyn Moore and two from Laughlynn Bragg in the first five minutes of the game. These goals stemmed from strong draw controls which Bath was able to dominate in the first half of the game. Although Woodstock was caught being flatfooted, recovering from their long drive, they fought hard to decrease Bath’s lead. By half time the score was 7 – 6 with Bath up by one, and for the remainder of the game the score stayed close. Hyde Woodstock tied the game with 8 minutes remaining in the game. A minute they scored the final goal of the game, securing victory by holding Bath away from the net for the remaining minutes. Both teams fought hard; Bath highlights include goalie Caroline Hammond making 15 saves in net, senior Laughlynn Bragg scoring seven goals in the game and picking up 9 ground balls, Shannon Ward and Erika Corley tallying some impressive ground balls as well, freshman Susanna McManus scoring her second game of the season, and Jailene Martinez playing hard offensively. Good effort and spirit from the girls who are itching for a win. Next, the phoenix lady laxers travel to Gould Academy Saturday for a MAISAD league match.
