Date:   April 18, 2012

Score:  Hyde Bath:  1      Hyde Woodstock: 9

On a beautiful sunny day, family weekend fans saw the Wolfpack control the offensive side of the field.  Once again Kellin Sweeney ‘14 kept the Phoenix in the game by stopping 23 of 32 shots on net (71% save percentage).  Sophomore “D” Marley Dutton and Andrew Martz combined for 10 contested ground balls, 3 steals and 7 clears.

On the other end the offense put together some movement off the ball and came up with a season high 14 shots on net.  Max Kaplan ’15 (4 ground balls and 3 shots on net) scored the only Phoenix goal in a game, while Terry Luo ’13 had 5 ground balls, 4 shots and several steals to earn the “Dirty Ball” award for heart and hustle on the field.

Hung Zhao ’14 (2 GB’s, and 4 hustle), David Wu ’15 (2 GB’s and 2 hustle and 2 shots on net) and John McManus ’13 (2 GB, 2 steals and 2 hustle) each played one of their best games to date.  The FV Phoenix prepare for Gould Academy next weekend and a rematch with Woodstock the following week.
