Bath: JV Lacrosse loses a tight game vs. Kent’s Hill School

Team: Men’s Future Varsity Lacrosse
Date: April 14, 2012
Score:  Hyde:  1    Kent’s Hill School 4

Highlights:

What growth! It looked and sounded like a real lacrosse game!  Our goal from last game was getting a goal.  Although we did get ONE goal (more would be better) it is a start.

For the first 8 minutes it was the Andrew Martz ’14 and Marley Dutton ’14 show as the two defensemen scooped ground balls, made great clears and protected net minder Kellin Sweeney ’14 (1 goal and 13 saves on the day).  Kent’s Hill opened the scoring from attack in the first.  On a great clear by Dutton and Sweeney to Attack-man Max Kaplan ’15 who then fed Thomas Pennington ’13 in the crease for the first goal of the season.  That would be all the scoring for the day for the Phoenix and Kent’s Hill would dent the twine 3 more times for the victory, however the FV Phoenix finally are putting the pieces together to play the game.

Freshman Max Kaplan (8 ground balls, 10 shots on net and 1 assist) and Sophomore Andrew Martz (9 ground balls, 4 clears and 4 defensive take-aways) earned the “Dirty – all” coaches award for Heart and Hustle.
