Wolfpack JV 5
Stafford HS 1
The Wolfpack JV had its first game on the turf yesterday versus Stafford HS and it proved to be a major improvement from their last game. The team focused on maintaining possession of the ball in the practices leading up to the home opener which paid off. Again the offense was fueled by Griffon Davidson and John McDonald at attack each playing crucial roles in the majority of the scoring opportunities. Stanley Yao ’13 again was near unbeatable at the faceoff x, during a school meeting two days prior to the game he stood up and said he wanted to score a goal. He did just that after he blazed down the field and ripped a great shot passed the Stafford defense and goaltender. For that he earned his first “Leader of the Pack sticker.” Senior captain Ben Errera also earned the same honor for his intoxicating play as a defensive middie. The Junior Wolfpack has two more home games this week on Grant Field against two teams that they lost to last year. Again they know possession will be key in those games and they are excited about the chance to avenge last years losses.
