Hyde-Woodstock – 17
Marianapolis – 59
Hyde faced a tough opponent on their senior night missing point guard and leading scorer Andrea Crute ’12. Already back on their heels because of missing Andrea the team struggled with confidence and effectiveness. Lack of confidence showed itself mostly on the offensive end when time and again the team turned the ball over or it was one shot and done against a good rebounding team. Alexis Holdampf scored the only 4 points for Hyde in the first half. The girls came off the floor frustrated and hanging their heads to some extent. The halftime talk focused on not looking at the scoreboard and increasing the effort on both ends of the floor. Kelly Umutoni ’12 had a solid second half scoring 8 points and grabbing as many rebounds. The second half was far better than the first in the area of effort. Katherine Hagood ’13 fought hard the entire game as the stand in point guard. The scoring was as follows: Yang Yi ’12 0-0-0, Katherine Hagood ’13 1-0-3, Lauren Maloney ’13 0-0-0, Jenna Dubinsky ’14 0-0-0, Maureen Bellwoar ’13 0-0-0, Kelly Umutoni ’12 3-2-8, Nicky Gomez ’13 0-0-0. The team’s next game is as the 6th seed in the SENE tournament against a tough squad at St. Andrews.
