Hyde-Woodstock JV Wrestling Takes on Rectory, Pomfret School

The JV Wresting Wolf Pack headed down the road yesterday to face off against the Rectory School and the Pomfret School. The team has struggled with motivation as the end of the season approaches and we find little competition on the schedule. We opened the day facing wrestlers from the Pomfret School. Dylan Marx fought from behind and beat his opponent by pinning him late in the match. Richard Fagan was in his first match of the season against another first year wrestler. He was pinned, but gained some much needed experience on the mat. Many Hyde wrestlers fell victim to a lack of composure on the mat and gave their opponents careless opportunities which lead to their defeat. The match of the day was between Leo Cao of Hyde School and Prieto from the Rectory School. After wrestling from the bottom for much of the match and having difficulty reversing or escaping, Leo turned the tables on is opponent. He escaped, took control, and won with a pin. The team will finish the season at JV New Englands at Tabor Academy on Saturday the 25th.
