Disappointing Loss for Boys V Basketball vs. Master’s School

Saturday 11, February

 Masters:      50
at Hyde Woodstock:  48

The Boys  Varsity Basketball team suffered a close loss against Masters. Hustling and playing with heart, the team shortened the nine point Masters lead had at the end of the first half. During the second half, the Wolfpack turned up the intensity of its defense and went on a ten point rally, taking the lead by two points with less than a minute left in the game.  The teams exchanged free throws, but Master’s, down by one, recovered an offensive rebound after a bad bounce off of the rim and tipped in the winning basket.

Team Captain, Robert Lewis ’12 had fourteen points with four defensive rebounds and three steals. The steals allowed Nasir Ibrahim ’12 to have fast breaks and score nine points. He also had one defensive rebound and two steals of his own. Jahvaney Beckford ’13 followed with thirteen points, five defensive rebounds, and two deflections. Chad Bryant ’13 also contributed solidly, scoring six points with one defensive rebound.

The Hyde Wolfpack plays St. Thomas Moore away on Wednesday 15, February. Go Wolfpack!
