Chase Collegiate 42
On the very first day back from break, the boys’ J.V. welcomed Chase Collegiate School to campus. It was our first time playing Chase so there was no history to rely on in terms of how the game might go. After being down for nearly the entire game, the boys crawled back into it slowly but surely. With less than five seconds remaining in regulation, Dan Weintraub ’12 hit a clutch three pointer to force overtime. Hyde controlled the four minute overtime period and walked away with a 48-42 victory to earn its first victory of the season.
The key to victory was the solid contribution from each member of the team. Scoring was as follows: Trevor Braxton-Barto, 3; Dan Weintraub, 19; Griffin Davidson, 4; Rodney Felder, 9; Wenze Bo, 2; Sam Finkenstaedt, 5; Paul Pan, 6. Rob O’Connor, Mike Stamoulis, John Nelson, and John Donesky all chipped in with solid efforts, especially on the defensive end.
Hyde’s record stands at 1-2 and they look forward to hosting Providence Country Day at 1:00pm on Saturday.
