From Woodstock to Brooklyn: Hyde Communities Support Each Other

Dr. Sandra DuPree, Executive Director of the Hyde Leadership Charter School of Brooklyn, NY was the enthusiastic recipient of a gift from the Hyde School, Woodstock, CT community for Hyde-Brooklyn. The Woodstock community, with the energetic commitment of receptionist Susie Racine, raised $4,000. Most of the money was raised through candy sales at Susie’s desk at the center of Annhurst Hall, but also includes income from “Jean’s Day,” bake sales at athletic events, and the sale of special occasion and holiday baskets made and donated by Susie.

“I am so excited to be a part of this fundraiser especially since it has been presented to the Hyde – Brooklyn school and to know that this donation will benefit the students with their growth and development,” shares Susie.

Dr. DuPree said that the money will be used toward the Hyde-Brooklyn after-school program. Hyde-Brooklyn is located in East New York and currently enrolls 205 students in grades kindergarten through second grade.
