Hyde – 1

Gould Academy – 2

Taking the field for their final regular season home game, Hyde looked strong from the opening whistle.  Play was largely dominated by the Phoenix as they outshot their guests in both halves and had several scoring opportunities.  An unfortunate mis-read lead to a first half goal for Gould on one of only four shots on goal.  Cat Vidal ’12 and Dexie Cercos ’12 worked hard and pressured the Gould end but couldn’t seem to finish.  Sweeper Mady Preece ’13 played an outstanding game, handling the ball with composure in the back field.  After a 1-0 half, Hyde returned with more intensity.  Gould was able to score their second on a penalty box scramble following a free kick.  Despite a two goal deficit, the team continued to work hard with notable performances from newcomer Amy Ginsberg ’13 and back Tandis Rafii ’12.  Finally Hyde answered with 12 minutes remaining when Caroline Hammond ’12 netted a loose ball.  For the final ten minutes, Hyde as all over the field but wasn’t able to find the equalizer.  It was a great effort with an unfortunate outcome.
