Best-selling Author to Offer Writer’s Workshop to Students at Hyde School

Best-Selling Author Douglas Preston.

Bath, ME—On Sunday, October 30, 11-time best-selling author Douglas Preston will visit Hyde School in Bath, Maine, where he will instruct students on the finer points of writing during a year-long writer’s workshop. The class, which will meet first in the fall and continue through April, is for self-motivated Hyde School students who want to launch a major writing project, such as  a novel, novella, memoir, or work of poetry.  This hands-on seminar will be limited to juniors and seniors who are interested in submitting their work for future publication.

Preston is the author of 27 books, both fiction and nonfiction.  His last novel, Cold Vengeance, reached number one on the New York Times bestseller list.  His books have been made into several motion pictures, and his most recent nonfiction book, The Monster of Florence, is currently in production and stars George Clooney. Preston also writes for the New Yorker, Atlantic, Smithsonian, and National Geographic, and has taught nonfiction writing at Princeton University.

“It is an honor to have Douglas here at Hyde School to work with our students, and provide guidance in a very rich and intellectual seminar setting,” states Head of School Don MacMillan.
