Hyde School lacrosse camp is in full swing on the Woodstock, CT campus. This week’s skills clinics will include shooting, stick skills, goaltending, defense, face-offs, and much more. Head coach and Associate Head of School Bob Felt files this report on Tuesday’s practice:
In our morning session, we continued where we left off, working on stick skills and lacrosse fundamentals. Our mid-field group had the opportunity to learn from our face-off specialists, coaches Josh Dubinsky, a player at Eastern CT State University, and Zach Gregory, bound for Towson University.
Our Young Gun group once again impressed us all with their energy and enthusiasm and had a competitive scrimmage followed by a mandatory “popsicle fest”. In the afternoon, we divided the players into 4 teams to begin the camp tournament. In the opening round, Team Swamp defeated Philly Power 7-6 while in the other game, Team Tornadoes defeated Team Folan 8-1. We are looking forward to our speaker on Wednesday, Randy Fraser, who is currently a coach with the Boston Blazers and former Team USA member.
