The Hyde Varsity Tennis team enjoyed great success during its match at St. Thomas More academy, winning 6 out of 7 matches. First singles player Lara Cornelius ’11 dominated her match with her ace serve, winning 8-1. Second singles player Sarah DeNunzio ’11 played a competitive game of tennis, fighting for every point; the final score was 7-9. Richard Schuller ’12, the team’s third singles player, won his match 8-1, lamenting that he had even allowed his opponent one game. Fourth singles player Christopher Wells ’11 also won his match 8-1. The doubles teams excelled in their matches. Sam Zhao ’12 and Mason Specter ’12, the first doubles team, won 8-3. The second doubles team, Alex Huston ’12 and Chad Bryant ’12, won their match 8-5. Third doubles team Nick Sackman ’11 and Kun-il Kim ’12 won their game 8-1 thanks to improved teamwork. The team enjoyed playing at St. Thomas More and looks forward to its upcoming games at St. Andrews and Marianapolis.
