Hyde hosted the #1 ranked SENE team the St. Thomas Moore School with tournament implications on the line. Right away, senior midfield face-off “wizard” Brian Sanz ’11 won the opening draw and feed junior attackman Nate Gilbert ’12 to put Hyde ahead in the opening seconds. Minutes later junior attackman Kevin McMorrow ’12 had a nice “dip and dunk” that he put past the goalie to continue the positive momentum for the Hyde offense. Senior standout defensemen Adam Carreau ’11 ,continued to be all over the field picking up ground balls and aiding the Hyde clearing game to put Hyde ahead at the half 3-2. At the half, the Hyde offense “re-loaded” and came out shooting with some great goals from sophomore attackman Jake Abelman ’13, senior middie Dan Swanson ’11 and two more goals from Gilbert 12′. Hyde’s junior goalie Blake Smaldone ’12was superb in net and stopped shot after shot to finish with 18 saves for the day. When the horn sounded Hyde cruised to victory 10-3. Up next for the Wolfpack the St. Andrews School on Wednesday.
