Hyde Woodstock Girl’s Lacrosse vs. Worcester Academy

Hyde-Woodstock – 5
Worcester Academy – 16

Hyde traveled to Worcester for a girl’s lacrosse game.  Worcester got on the board first and fast scoring eight of their goals before Hyde got their first.  The wolf pack only controlled one draw in the first half and spent most of the time on defense.  Offensively when the team did get a chance to score they scored with Alexis Holdampf on the scoreboard first after free position shot. Bryn Nolan ’12 added two more goals in the first half.

The team has improved greatly in the last few weeks and it shows best in individual performances.  Bryn Nolan ’12 has 3 goals, 2 ground balls and a draw control.  Madeline Gartman ’12 had 2 ground balls, Alexis Holdampf ’12 2 goals, 6 ground balls, and two draw controls,Tina Zhang ’13 2 ground balls, Shanae Hu ’12 gets on the board with 3 ground balls, and Barbara Zimmer ’11 played in her first game and gets 3 ground balls. Hyesong Back ’12 has played goalie for two games and had 14 saves.  Rina Pesner ’14 had an assist. The defense has begun to work together and gain confidence.

The game did not end in a win nor did it go the way the team wanted it to but they gained confidence and have begun to build a foundation for next year.  The team’s next game is against Portsmouth Abbey on Friday.
