Hyde traveled to New London, Ct. to play against the Williams School on a hot and humid spring day. Williams answered first minutes into the game but Hyde answered back with a great goal from junior attackman Jake Abelman 13′ to tie the game at one a piece. Not long after senior midfielder Dan Swanson 11′ had a beautiful left handed shot and Nate Gilbert 12′ scored to give Hyde the lead at halftime 3-1. The second half proved to be a back and forth battle as Williams would not go away. Hyde increased their lead to 5-2 on goals by Abelman 13′ and junior captain Kevin McMorrow 12′ but Williams battled back to tie the score at 5-5 with about five minutes to play. With three minutes left to play Abelman 13′ netted his 3rd. goal of the game but Williams answered back and sent the game into overtime. In the first overtime period junior goalie Blake Smaldone 12′ played stellar stopping shot after shot to help Hyde survive the first overtime period with the score still deadlocked at 6-6. In the second overtime period senior midfielder Brian Sanz 11′ controlled the face-off and Hyde wasted little time and

Abelman 13′ scored the game winner, his fourth of the day to give Hyde the victory 7-6. It was an all around great effort and Hyde hopes to continue the streak as they head to Falmouth Academy on Wednesday.
