Men’s Varsity Lacrosse hit the turf for their first game of the season against NYA. The early season action resulted in a 7-3 loss for the up-and-coming Phoenix. The squad was anchored by the fast hands and steadfast composure of Alec Randall ’12 in the net. NYA fired off numerous shots in his direction, but he stepped up to the occasion with 18 saves (72% save percentage).
Hyde found a spark in the all-around hustle of Harry Smith ’11. Smith (2 goals), played tenacious defense and was vital to the transition game with his speed, quickness, and vision. Offensively Tyler Raff ’12 found the net for a Phoenix score. The team has several days to continue gelling as a unit before taking the field against Proctor at 4 on Saturday.
