On Friday the Hyde basketball team traveled down to Massachusetts to play against the Cambridge School of Weston. Going into the game the team was optimistic about trying to snap a five a game losing streak. Both teams at the beginning of the game went back and forth exchanging the lead several times. Hyde got into foul trouble early in the game, forcing some of the Hyde starters to sit throughout the first half. CSW slowly started gaining the edge in the first half, extending their lead to double digits going into halftime. At Halftime the score was Hyde 16, CSW 27.
At the start of the second half Hyde came back, with three quick buckets to make the score reasonable again. For a little while it looked as though Hyde would come back from the deficit and win the game, but CSW quickly extinguished that hope. Once again foul trouble hindered the Wolfpack from taking the win, and the final score was Hyde 42, CSW 55.
Some standouts for the Wolfpack included Jahvaney Beckford, who stayed on the floor almost the entire game, playing with great determination, he finished the game with 17 points. Mike Cannon, despite sitting most of the first half, had a game total of 9 points.
Hyde has its first home game since December on Wednesday against St. Andrews.
