Wolfpack Spirit Strong at Choate Matchup

Hyde-Woodstock: 24
Choate Rosemary Hall: 53

The Hyde School at Woodstock hosted a dual match versus Choate this Monday the 17th.  Our match-ups against Choate have always been close, and this year was not much different.  Although the final score was lop-sided, several matches just did not fall our way even though we were the tougher opponents.  With this match on a Monday, the whole school attended and brought an intensity to the day with loud cheering and amazing school spirit.  Some highlights of the day were David Smith ’14 who fought for all six minutes, only losing in a 4-10 decision.  Kevin Smith ’12 wrestled with determination and earned a pin.  Kenrick Vincent ’12 muscled his opponent down and won by yet another pin for the season.  James Ziede ’12 proved to be the tougher opponent at the 160lb weight class and won his match, and Zack Guidice ’12 pinned his man at the 189lb weight class.  Although we did not win for the day, we proved to Choate that we were tough and persistent on the mat.  Our next match will be another home match this Wednesday against Marianapolis Prep.
