St. Lukes: 65
On Saturday the Wolfpack traveled down to St. Lukes. Throughout the First half St. Lukes had the lead and were relentless on the fastbreaks and three point shots. It looked like it would be an easy win for St. Lukes, but the wolfpack didn’t bow their heads that easily. At Halftime the score was Hyde 23, St. Lukes 37.
In the Second half St. Lukes extended their lead to 21 with about 10 minutes to go. Hyde kept battling though, and after cutting the lead down to 5 with 2 minutes to go, Hyde was forced to foul St. Lukes to get the ball back. Jahvaney Beckford hit another big three pointer from way beyond the line to keep the wolfpack’s hopes alive but unfortunately Hyde couldn’t continue their momentum throughout the final 2 minutes. The final score was Hyde 53, St. Lukes 65
Some standouts for the game included Jahvaney Beckford ’11 having another big game, being a dominant force on both ends of the floor, scoring 11 points. Mike Cannon ’11 played well earning himself a double, double with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Jalen Hill ’11 was an animal inside scoring 21 points and 18 rebounds.
The wolfpack travel down the street to Pomfret on Wednesday to play the Griffins.
